Why Grandkid On Call exists

It started with helping Grandma.

Phones needed fixing. Little chores needed doing. Some things needed explaining twice—and that was perfectly fine.

It became obvious that other older adults and busy families need the same kind of patient, practical help from someone local they can trust.

PatientPracticalLocal

Three words that decide what we build—and who joins the team.

Built for trust

The future is a network. The standard stays personal.

The first version of Grandkid On Call is intentionally local and founder-led. The long-term vision is a carefully selected network of helpers that families can book online, by app, or by phone.

Growth should make help easier to reach without making helpers feel anonymous. That means clear profiles, careful screening, visible arrival updates, and the ability to request the same helper again.

Our operating principles

What “grandkid” should feel like.

01

Never make someone feel small

Questions are welcome. Explanations are patient. The customer sets the pace.

02

Be clear about the job

Confirm the task, the price, the arrival window, and anything outside the service before showing up.

03

Protect trust over growth

Add services and helpers only when the training, screening, and safeguards are ready.
